Fishwest COVID-19 Update – Practice Social Distancing Through Fly Fishing

Update – 3.18.2020 – As of today, the Fishwest Retail store has closed and will remain closed untill further notice. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we are closely watching and making decisions based on recommendations from our local government and health officials. This decision was not made lightly but we found it to be the best course of action to protect or customers, the angling public, and our great staff.

Worry not, staff will be on hand fulfilling orders and providing the same great level of service that you have come to expect from us here at Fishwest. This level of uncertainty is unprecedented for a lot of us out there. Normal life as we know it has been disrupted for the time being. However, if there is one thing we have learned over the years, It is easy to turn to fly fishing when times are difficult. Fly fishing is one of the most therapeutic activities there is. We would urge our friends, family, customers, and all anglers alike to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and practice some “social distancing” by casting a fly rod in your favorite local fishery. It is bound to do some good in this deeply stressful and anxiety ridden time.

I grew up in the shadow of some of the most heralded ski slopes in the western United States. Instead of skiing or snowboarding I took up fly fishing at a young age. Through high school & my early college years I was fortunate enough to represent my country playing Sled Hockey. I started at Fishwest as a member of the web team and now I oversee and manage almost every aspect of the Fishwest e-commerce platform.
