New Scientific Anglers Line for 2023

If you are particular to Scientific Anglers fly lines for your adventures on the water, than you’re probably already aware of the new Scientific Anglers lines for 2023!

A Redesigned Box

SA is making a new statement with their redesigned box. In our opinion it’s the upgrade that was needed, especially when comparing the multitude of lines at a quick glance. We also really like that they have a clear image of the type of taper the line has. You can compare multiple lines side by side via taper and technologies. The new box has small image features for the line technologies.  The biggest and most noteworthy change to the boxes is the new color schemes with matte touches!

New Lines for 2023

AMPLITUDE TEXTURED TROUT STANDARD

The first series of lines to feature the revolutionary AST PLUS slickness additive, Amplitude Textured series will shoot farther and last longer than any other line on the market. It’s slickness down to a science. Amplitude Textured Trout Standard is a true to AFFTA line weight casters fly line. Built with a mid-length head for exceptional mending and accuracy at long distances. If you love casting this will quickly become one of your new favorites.

  • Features the revolutionary AST Plus slickness additive for superior shooting ability and increased durability
  • Floating Texture on the tip section for the ultimate in flotation; it simply keeps dry flies floating longer
  • Shooting Texture running line delivers longer casts, thanks to a reduction in friction
  • Mid-length head for exceptional mending and accuracy at distance
  • The casters line
  • Braided multifilament core

AMPLITUDE SMOOTH MPX   ** A Fishwest Staff Favorite**

The Amplitude Smooth series of lines are, simply put, the highest-performance smooth fly lines in the world. With up to five times less drag and eight times the durability of traditional lines, this will change the way you look at fly line performance. Built a half-size heavy, the Amplitude Smooth MPX taper starts where the GPX left off. Redesigned with more mass toward the front of the head, the MPX provides the same benefits of the GPX, with an added emphasis on presentation. The power is still there, only with an added bit of finesse. Meet your new best friend.

  • Features the revolutionary AST Plus slickness additive for superior shooting ability and increased durability
  • An excellent general-presentation line for trout, panfish, bass, grayling and carp; also useful for steelhead, salmon, and pike
  • Made a half-size heavy to load fast-action rods, but works well with a variety of rod actions
  • Best for large dry flies, nymphs, and streamers
  • For use in moderate and cold climates
  • Braided multifilament core

MASTERY EURO TACTICAL NYMPH BRAIDED CORE

Built to meet the needs of demanding anglers the Mastery Euro Tactical Nymph lines feature a braided core that minimizes memory and line sag, producing a more sensitive connection to your flies. Available in a level line which is the most efficient for tightline nymphing while remaining FIPS compliant and a double taper version with slightly more mass to allow dry flies to be cast when needed.

  • Formulated with Advanced Shooting Techonology
  • Double taper version maintains .022” tip, but tapers to a slightly larger belly so that it can be overhead cast when needed
  • Level .022” diameter, coated fly line for sag free, tight line presentations

SONAR TROUT EXPRESS

Sometimes the biggest trout live where back casts aren’t your best friend. Sonar Trout Express has a short, rear weighted head that excels at roll casting large streamers in tight spaces.

  • Formulated with Advanced Shooting Technology
  • Extended rear taper stabilizes longer casts
  • SD Blend technology for the smoothest possibe transition between densities
  • Sink Rate: Floating running line, intermediate belly, Sink 5 tip
  • Braided multifilament core

SKAGIT SHORT

The Skagit Short is designed to pair better with shorter Spey rods or when an angler needs to wade deep. This allows the angler to maintain a good D-loop even when the distance between the rod tip and water is shortened.

  • Shorter head length for use with short spey rods or when wading deep
  • Designed to be used with sink tips for targeting steelhead and salmon
  • High contrast sighter at the rear of the head identifies the perfect overhang
  • Braided multifilament core
