Brand Spotlight – Now Available – Skwala Fishing

The team at Fishwest is proud to announce the latest addition to our team of industry partners, we are excited to now offer products from Skwala Fishing, both online and in our flagship retail store, located at the gateway to Utah’s Uinta Mountains in Kamas, Utah.

Skwala is proud to call the state of Montana home, with their headquarters located in Bozeman, coincidently not too far from one of the fly-fishing industry’s biggest players, we wont name them, but let’s just say they are very fond of orange.

The relatively new Bozeman-based brand was brought to market by long time industry vet, Kevin Sloan. A fisherman at his core, Kevin cut his teeth in the industry as a fishing guide in Colorado, and then transitioned to different roles with industry giants like Orivs, Sitka Gear, and MeatEater. Skwala burst on to the scene in March 2022 with a slim line of products in key categories including waders, shell jackets, insulated jackets, as well as a few different styles of shirts & pants.

Since their early days, the team at Skwala continues to push the envelope with a clean, minimalist look that puts an emphasis on function and performance.

I grew up in the shadow of some of the most heralded ski slopes in the western United States. Instead of skiing or snowboarding I took up fly fishing at a young age. Through high school & my early college years I was fortunate enough to represent my country playing Sled Hockey. I started at Fishwest as a member of the web team and now I oversee and manage almost every aspect of the Fishwest e-commerce platform. I also act as the main point of contact for all of the Fishwest hosted travel trips.
