Today is the day! The 4th generation Helios rods are here.
Our initial thoughts: The rod is an absolute riot when you first pick it up and cast it. You can tell that the team at Orvis took all the best elements of the previous generations, but improved on them by yet again decreasing swing weight and accuracy. This rod is extremely light, fun to cast, and has plenty of power. No matter what level of angler you are, you owe it to yourself to head to your local fly shop and cast these rods.
We are excited to see these rods in action soon! We will be taking the 8-Weight Helios D Series down to Andros to put it up against the toughest of Bahamian bonefish. We will return a full report soon. Until then, check out the Orvis Helios Origin Story below:
