Fishwest is excited to announce the addition of a regular column to our blog. The aptly titled “Cutthroat Chronicles” will bring readers the best in gear reviews, industry news, fly fishing tactics and so much more. Learn more about the Utah based author Spencer Durrant by reading below. Stay tuned for the all new Cutthroat Chronicles column starting in January 2016. Spencer is a fifth-generation Utahn who feels more at home on a trout stream than anywhere else in the world. He fly fishes mainly for trout, but is slowly expanding his horizons to bass, musky, and pike. Spencer is also heavily involved in conservation, serving as vice president of the Utah County Alpine Anglers, a new Trout Unlimited chapter here in the Beehive State. Spencer’s writing has appeared in publications like the AP, KSL, and NBA.com, as well as the Orvis Fly Fishing Blog and Hatch Magazine. He also writes the monthly ‘Trout Bum’ column for Ogden, Utah’s Standard-Examiner.
