Saturday, September 6, 2025 | 9 AM – 1 PM Fishwest Fly Shop is proud to announce a brand-new partnership with Fish For Garbage. Together, we are hosting our first-ever Mirror Lake Highway & Uinta Lakes Cleanup. This event is an opportunity for anglers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts to come together for a shared cause—protecting the waters we all enjoy. What to Expect Cleanup: 9 AM – 12 PMVolunteers will spread out along Mirror Lake Highway and the surrounding alpine lakes to collect trash. Fish For Garbage will provide gloves, trash bags, and access to water stations. Please bring a reusable water bottle to reduce single-use waste. Lunch & Raffle: 12 PM – 1 PMAfter the cleanup, return to Fishwest Fly Shop in Kamas (138 W 280 S) for a community BBQ. Thanks to Bolt Ranch, we’ll have a solid lunch waiting. Raffle prizes and gear giveaways will follow. Each full bag of trash earns you one entry into the raffle. Note: Participants must be present to win. Organizers, sponsors, and their immediate families are not eligible for raffle prizes. Why This Matters This cleanup is part of Fish For Garbage’s 10-year celebration of watershed stewardship. Over the past decade, the organization has helped remove thousands of pounds of trash from Utah’s rivers and lakes. Now, with this new addition to the 2025 cleanup schedule, the Mirror Lake Highway region is getting the attention it deserves. For Fishwest, the event aligns with our mission to support fly fishers—not only through gear and education—but also through community and conservation efforts.
