Trout Tips: River Etiquette Tips

One of the greatest things about fly fishing is the sense of community. The shared bond between anglers that can develop in pursuit of fish with a fly rod is a great thing. This is something that you see everywhere that you go whether on the home waters or beyond.

However, there are times where that common goal gets lost on the water. People seem to forget that we are all out trying to accomplish the same goal while enjoying the beauty of our surroundings. This is where the practice of proper etiquette comes into play. Russel Miller, our buddy from Fishpond recently put together a video with the folks at Trout Unlimited with some great tips on proper river ethics to keep everyone happy out on the water

I grew up in the shadow of some of the most heralded ski slopes in the western United States. Instead of skiing or snowboarding I took up fly fishing at a young age.
